September Haul

Its rainy season here in Bangkok where the sun comes out is really much appreciated. A perfect weather to roll and curled up in your bed or having a cup of coffee or tea while watching a movie or reading a book. Though the weather is a bit gloomy, it doesn't mean that I have to be gloomy as well. This is the month where I launched my beauty blog, so it is a very exciting month for me. Another way to spruce things up is of course by having new babies to toddle in my dressing table. So, here they are:

Bliss Fat Girl Slim
Bliss The Love Handler
Maybelline Magnum Volum' Express Mascara
Blistex Simple and Sensitive Lip Balm
YSL Touche Eclat

I am particularly excited with the Bliss products since I have been working out for the past month (again) to keep my body healthy and to lose some what I called Bangkok fat ;p. So I hope this firming body care will help me achieve that fit and toned body I'm currently working on. Will do some reviews in the future!

Shu Uemura Face Powder Sheer

My first review in the blog. Woo hoo!! This powder is part of my cosmetics haul in July. I had a habit to have more than one powder in my collection, so I could use them depends on the occasion, but it usually not more than three products. Previously, I was using SK II Loose Powder and Skin Food Buckwheat Powder. For example: I use my SK II powder for casual outings such as grocery shopping or when I don’t really want to put full makeup on (BB cream or foundation) because it already have SPF in it. For night outings, I don’t need to put on powder that has SPF, so I usually go with Buckwheat powder.

Ok, on to the review now. The loose powder package is sleek and simple, typical Shu Uemura packaging. My shade for this powder is 7YR Light. My face tends to lighten a bit when I applied powder, so its important for me to choose the right shade for my powder so it won't make my face looked like I just come off kabuki stage. It contains 20gr of powder and the texture is so fine and soft. The puff is soft and puffy. I usually apply my powder using the puff, but you can always use a face brush to apply it. It has a fine mesh on top of it.

Due to its fine texture, the powder blends easily and give a sheer to light medium coverage, depends on how many layers that you put on. If I'm using the powder alone without any BB Cream or foundation, it could cover my big pores but cannot hide some of my spots. If I wanted a flawless look, I have to use BB cream or foundation first even though it still cannot cover some of my darker spots. It did a great job in setting the makeup though. The staying power last until 8 hours but if you have oily skin, you might need to blot after around 4 hours. For me, it gives a glowy look that I like. This is a wonderful powder to use for daily make up because it will give you a natural finish.

This is a picture where I want to show you how fine the powder texture and how it instantly matches your skin when the powder is blended. On my right side hand, I applied the powder generously and I actually blended the powder on my left side of hand. If you cannot see the difference between sides, it showed you how the powder blends perfectly with your skin. No chalky effect and it covered your skin smoothly.

Below picture is how it looked after I blend the powder all over my hand. You can see the powder brightened the skin and give a natural radiant finish.

I am very satisfied with the powder performance and would love to purchase it again after I finish it later. I also put the ingredient list below. I don't really like it when my cosmetics have too much fragrance so its good that this powder is fragrance free :)

The Revival

A revival, that might be a perfect word to begin this blog. I once had a beauty blog before, but it only last for a while with several posts. I started it and tried to write if I have the time. Beauty world is a fascinating world that amazes me every time. I love beauty products and make ups.  It amazing what beauty products or make ups can do for people. It can level up one's confidence and even a soul therapy for the others. I always took time when I do my make up because I really enjoy doing it and feel great every time looking at the mirror and see myself looking good. Sometimes its just a casual make up, but for me, even the simplest make up like fixing your brow or put a blush on helps me to highlight the best parts of my face and makes me feel pretty. When you feel pretty, you'll gain confidence or at least have a good feeling about yourself. Something that is needed to go through the days :)
Those are the reasons why I started the blog, to share my passion and love about beauty world with other people.

But apparently, my time management level was low (its still is but its improving) and there were just too much noise, as in disruption in my life, that prevented me to write more. Until lately, I have been thinking to myself what I am going to do with my life? Now that my son is growing bigger and started preschool, I suddenly have this big chunk of time that I could use to do something other than doing my house chores and running errands. I use some of the time to exercise regularly, something that I cannot manage as well when my son still spent most of his time at home (the only exercise that I do regularly was wrestling with him :D). I want to do something that I feel passion about. Something that I really love and can enthusiast me. I thought about my love about beauty and think why don't I give it try again. I decide to revive this beauty blog with a new determination. I know there are lots, I mean hundreds of beauty blog out there, but I started this blog with just a simple objective. To serve my long time passion, writing and beauty.

Finally I would like to share some quotes I found about passion. These quotes uplift my spirit and inspire me to do something with what I have right now. It doesn't matter if its just a small thing as long as you do it with your passion and determination, baby steps can develop into something more.

"Enthusiasm is one of the most powerful engines of success. When you do a thing, do it with all your might. Put your whole soul into it. Stamp it with your own personality. Be active, be energetic and faithful, and you will accomplish your object. Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.”
- Ralph Waldo Emerson -

"If there is no passion in your life, then have you really lived? Find your passion, whatever it may be. Become it, and let it become you and you will find great things happen FOR you, TO you and BECAUSE of you.”
– T. Alan Armstrong -

"The one thing that you have that nobody has is you. Your voice, your mind, your story, your vision. So write and draw and build and play and dance and live as only you can."
- Neil Gaiman -
