Laneige Satin Finish Loose Powder

Laneige has been one of my favorite Korean Brand. Well, with Jeon Ji Hyun and Song Hye Kyo as their brand ambassador, they definitely had captured a lot of beauty lovers’ heart.

I always prefer using loose powder instead of compact powder or even powder foundation because of its light texture. It feels and looks natural on my face and doesn’t cakey at all.

Laneige Satin Finish Loose Powder is an amazing product. I love it so much and I already finished 2 jars. I’m on my 3rd jar now and I suddenly remember why I haven’t written a review about it. So here it is!
The powder is finely milled and the texture is unbelievably soft. When you pat or brush it to your skin, it will set your make up easily and will blend into your skin. The powder will sit on your pores perfectly too. It is slightly scented and for me the scent is definitely not overwhelming, I usually don’t notice it after the powder set on my face. Other thing that I love from this powder is how the powder gives me a brighter complexion but not the pale and white-ish kind of complexion. It is not a powder with shimmery or pearly effect, but somehow it manages to give me the glow that I need.

A soft and fluff puff comes along with the powder. The puff is softer and puffer than my Shu Uemura Loose Powder puff and I like how it feels on my skin. I rarely use brush in applying my loose powder because I like to pat the puff on my face to really set my base makeup.

On the picture, you could see the powder when it is not blend and when it’s blended. It goes smoothly on the skin and remember when I told you about the brightening effect?

It will usually hold my makeup for around 5-6 hours without blotting. For you who have oily skin, you might need a better oil control powder than this, because the powder is very light, so I don’t think it will be able to hold longer than 4-5 hours for you. A little tip, you might want to try to tap some translucent silica powder to some parts of your face that will shine easily or slap on some primer with a good oil control before you put on your foundation etc. I hope that ought to give you some extra hours more.

Hope you enjoy reading the review and have a fabulous day!

Shu Uemura Face Powder Sheer

My first review in the blog. Woo hoo!! This powder is part of my cosmetics haul in July. I had a habit to have more than one powder in my collection, so I could use them depends on the occasion, but it usually not more than three products. Previously, I was using SK II Loose Powder and Skin Food Buckwheat Powder. For example: I use my SK II powder for casual outings such as grocery shopping or when I don’t really want to put full makeup on (BB cream or foundation) because it already have SPF in it. For night outings, I don’t need to put on powder that has SPF, so I usually go with Buckwheat powder.

Ok, on to the review now. The loose powder package is sleek and simple, typical Shu Uemura packaging. My shade for this powder is 7YR Light. My face tends to lighten a bit when I applied powder, so its important for me to choose the right shade for my powder so it won't make my face looked like I just come off kabuki stage. It contains 20gr of powder and the texture is so fine and soft. The puff is soft and puffy. I usually apply my powder using the puff, but you can always use a face brush to apply it. It has a fine mesh on top of it.

Due to its fine texture, the powder blends easily and give a sheer to light medium coverage, depends on how many layers that you put on. If I'm using the powder alone without any BB Cream or foundation, it could cover my big pores but cannot hide some of my spots. If I wanted a flawless look, I have to use BB cream or foundation first even though it still cannot cover some of my darker spots. It did a great job in setting the makeup though. The staying power last until 8 hours but if you have oily skin, you might need to blot after around 4 hours. For me, it gives a glowy look that I like. This is a wonderful powder to use for daily make up because it will give you a natural finish.

This is a picture where I want to show you how fine the powder texture and how it instantly matches your skin when the powder is blended. On my right side hand, I applied the powder generously and I actually blended the powder on my left side of hand. If you cannot see the difference between sides, it showed you how the powder blends perfectly with your skin. No chalky effect and it covered your skin smoothly.

Below picture is how it looked after I blend the powder all over my hand. You can see the powder brightened the skin and give a natural radiant finish.

I am very satisfied with the powder performance and would love to purchase it again after I finish it later. I also put the ingredient list below. I don't really like it when my cosmetics have too much fragrance so its good that this powder is fragrance free :)
