Akhir-akhir ini dunia kosmetik di Indonesia lagi seru banget ya. Banyak merek-merek lokal yang lama maupun baru meluncurkan produk-produk menarik, terutama lipstick matte. Jadi, begitu dapat voucher dari Sociolla, aku langsung deh sibuk pilih-pilih produk apa yang mau aku coba di websitenya Sociolla. Enaknya belanja di Sociolla, kamu bisa menemukan banyak merek lokal, seperti Wardah, Make Over, Polka, Lavie Lash, dll. Tinggal klik klik masuk ke keranjang belanja dan checkout, duduk manis nunggu paket cantik datang deh. Nah, aku mau pamer hasil belanjaan alias haul aku di Sociolla bulan lalu nih. Kali ini semua yang aku beli berasal dari merek lokal. Yang pertama ada bulu mata palsu dari Lavie Lash. Ini salah satu favorit aku dari Lavie, yaitu Rosie. Pembelian kali ini adalah pembelian kedua aku untuk Rosie. Aku suka dengan tampilan natural dan alaminya. Harganya 44.900 IDR, sudah termasuk lem bulu mata dalam kemasan kecil. Aku suka banget dengan kemasannya karena mudah dibawa kemana-mana.

Yang berikut adalah Make Over Ultra Hi Matte Lipstick No 10 (Smooch). Sebenernya sih mau beli lipsticknya Wardah yang Intense Matte, tapi apa daya laku keras jadi ga kebagian. Akhirnya beralih ke Make Over ini. Aku pilih warna yang agak sedikit menyala karena lagi bosan sama warna-warna lipstick nude yang jadi favorit orang-orang sekarang ini hehehe.. Harga lipstick ini 89.000 IDR.

Yang terakhir adalah sebuah lipstick matte lagi! Tapi bentuknya cair, yaitu Chiffon Matte Lip Rouge dari Beauty Story. Packagingnya juara! Elegan dan cantik! Warna yang aku pilih adalah Rosy Future, warna deep fuchsia dengan sedikit sentuhan kemerahan. Lagi-lagi warna yang lebih mencolok supaya imbang antara koleksi lipstick nude dan bold nya *penting banget*. Harga Chiffon Matte lipstick ini 119.000 IDR.

Seneng banget dengan kurang lebih 260.000 IDR, aku sudah bisa dapat tiga produk yang cantik-cantik. Apalagi ada vouchernya, jadi nambah deh diskonnya. Kamu juga bisa lho belanja di Sociolla dengan menggunakan voucher. Pas banget buat kamu yang ingin beli produk incaran yang lagi ga diskon hehehe.. Review - Polka Matteness Lip Lacquer Maraccas

Sudah bulan April nih, musim hujan sudah mulai berkurang dan kita sudah menuju ke musim kemarau sepertinya. Siapa di sini penggemar lipstick matte? Pasti banyak ya? Nah, hari ini aku mau sharing tentang satu lipstick matte yang kemasannya lucu banget, yaitu Polka Matteness Lip Lacquer.

Jadi, bibir aku ini kan gampang kering dan pecah-pecah, selain itu juga garis-garis halus di bibir terlihat jelas sekali kalau pakai matte lipstick. Makanya aku agak telat nih ikut demam lipstick matte, karena masih ragu-ragu apakah matte lipstick akan terlihat oke di bibir aku. Tapi ga tahan juga lihat segitu banyaknya lipstick matte yang bertebaran di mana-mana, jadilah aku mulai browsing-browsing lipstick matte mana ya yang aku ingin coba. Awalnya, aku tertarik banget sama merek Girlactik. Warna-warnanya cantik dan banyak yang bilang kalau lipstick ini tidak membuat bibir jadi kering. And then, come along Polka. Polka Matteness Lip Lacquer ini merek lokal lho. Begitu Polka diluncurkan, banyak sekali review-review yang bilang kalau lipstick ini bagus. Aku masih maju mundur untuk beli lipstick ini, sampai akhirnya di Sociolla Beauty Box Maret kemarin aku dapat satu lipstick Polka Matteness Lip Lacquer in Maraccas! What a coincidence! Kesampean juga deh mau cobain Polka, dan shade nya yang aku incar juga, yaitu Maraccas hehehe.. Yuk baca reviewnya di bawah ini.

Kita mulai dari kemasan. Kemasannya terbuat dari karton dan warna warni, pink, hijau, biru. Festive sekali lah pokoknya. Ada logo polka berwarna dasar hitam dengan tulisan putih. Kemasannya lucu banget, so colourful and cheerful. Berlawanan dengan kemasan kartonnya, lipstick nya ada di dalam tube akrilik bening dengan tutup berwarna hitam dengan tulisan Polka berwarna hitam di badan tabungnya, sangat simpel.

Tekstur lipsticknya cair, tidak kental seperti lipgloss ataupun moussey. Teksturnya juga terasa ringan di bibir. Aplikatornya ramping dan menurutku memudahkan pengaplikasian agar lebih rapi. Untuk warnanya, Maraccas ini best seller dari Polka lho. Warnanya termasuk nude dusty rose dan kalau untuk aku, jatuhnya cocok banget untuk jadi lipstick yang bisa digunakan sehari-hari. Cara pakainya diulaskan saja ke bibir secara merata, lalu diamkan beberapa saat. Lipstick akan mengering dengan sendirinya dan akan terlihat matte. Kalau kamu merasa warnanya kurang keluar, aplikasikan lipstick sekali lagi. Aku secara pribadi merasa cukup dengan satu kali aplikasi karena warnanya cukup nyata di bibir. Aku juga mencoba teknik aplikasi lain yang menjadi cara favorit aku untuk mendapatkan hasil akhir yang lebih natural, yaitu dengan memulaskan lipstick di bagian dalam bibir (atas dan bawah) , lalu aku ratakan lipstick ke seluruh bagian bibir dengan cara menepuk-nepuknya dengan menggunakan jari manis. Hasil akhirnya lebih natural namun tetap mendapatkan kesan matte. Cara ini bisa kamu coba jika kamu merasa warna lipsticknya terlalu pekat atau nyata. Dengan aplikasi seperti itu juga membantu meminimalkan tampilan garis-garis berlebih di bibirku. 

Polka Lip Lacquer ini lumayan bertahan lama di bibir aku, apalagi kalau tidak dipakai makan makanan yang terlalu banyak minyak. Lumayan lah 6-7 jam tidak perlu touch up. Lipsticknya nempel atau tidak ke peralatan makan? Jawabannya iya, masih transfer warna tapi minimal. Kalau ke kulit, lebih minimal lagi transfernya, karena aku sendiri masih suka curi-curi cium anakku waktu pakai lipstick ini, tapi lipsticknya tidak nempel di kulit anakku (he keeps on checking it on the mirror, though) hehehe..

Karena ini pengalaman pertama aku pakai lipstick matte, aku sempat bingung bagaimana cara menghapus lipstick seperti ini. Diusap tissue saja tidak cukup, pakai cleansing water seperti Bioderma juga tidak hilang. Waduh bagaimana ya? Nah, ternyata untuk membersihkannya secara tuntas, kamu harus menggunakan pembersih makeup berbasis oil atau minyak. Bisa menggunakan cleansing oil atau minyak zaitun atau kelapa. O iya, Polka juga tidak membuat bibirku kering dan pecah-pecah, jadi it’s another plus point untuk Polka.

Secara keseluruhan pengalaman lipstick matte aku yang pertama kali menyenangkan. Lipstick matte tidak semenyeramkan yang aku pikir and it also could look nice on me. I’m glad that I gave it a try. Semoga review aku bisa membantu kamu dalam memilih lipstick matte ya.

Review - Marc Jacobs The Sofia Le Marc Collection

How are you today? I hope you guys are doing well and in a healthy and good condition. The first quarter of 2016 is over and I honestly quite overwhelmed with the amount of things which had happened during this first quarter. Life has been quite hectic with family affairs and I’m so glad that it seems everything is calming down now. Because it means I can dedicate more time for this blog and also to keep on writing the review I’ve wanted to write since the beginning of the year, hurraahhh! 

So, today I’m going to review one of my Holiday Collection Haul from last December which is…. Marc Jacobs The Sofia Le Marc Collection! It’s quite late I know, but the shades in this collection is permanent, so I supposed the review will still help you who’s wanting to buy the full size lipstick.

Marc Jacobs The Sofia Le Marc Collection is a limited edition for 2015 holiday season. It consists of five petite sized Marc Jacobs Le Marc Lip Crèmes. Those petite lipsticks are tucked inside a black patent leather pouch with Marc Jacobs embossed on the front side. It is a beautiful gift because you can get the luxurious and classic feel from the black leather pouch and velvet covered plastic that holds the lipsticks. This set is inspired from Sofia Coppola, the filmmaker, hence the name, The Sofia.

The shades of the lipstick are:

Infamous – Muted warm pink

Dashing – Red with cool undertone

So Sofia – Bright coral red

Boy Gorgeous – Magenta red

Blow – Deep burgundy

The texture of the lip crème is creamy with a semi matte finish. It is very pigmented, you only need one or two swipes to get a full coverage on the lips. All of them do not contain shimmer, 100% creamy lipstick. Make sure that you have smooth lips or apply lip balm if you have dry lips so that the dry patches won’t be accentuated much. Marc Jacobs Le Marc Lip Crème enriched with peptides to plump the lips and also meranti and cocoa butter to hydrate the lips even more. Thanks to that, it did not make my lips dry or patchy. It lasted for a good 4 hours without eating and drinking. The bolder colors will stay longer on the lips even after you already drink or eating (unless you eat a very oily food).

Out of the five, my favorite will be Infamous (love love love the muted pink that is perfect for any occasion) and Blow (simply because I never owned a lipstick with this shade and it just sooo edgy for me hahaha)

This lipstick set is such a good deal because with the price I paid, I get to try different shades. The bonus leather pouch did not hurt either ;) As for the quality, I’m impressed with the long lasting and how pigmented these lipsticks are. I tried the Marc Jacobs New Nudes Sheer Lip Gel and love it as well. Below is the comparison between the full sized Marc Jacobs Lipstick and the petite sized one.

Review - Beauty Box Urban Lips Manhattan

Hello gorgeous! How are you today? Hope that you had a great weekend and all charged up to thrive on the upcoming week. I had a pretty lazy weekend and I blame for the weather, the gloomy rainy weather which made me just wanna curl up in my bed. I was not feeling well too last weekend but nothing serious though, I guess just a bug messing with my throat. I feel all better now after boosting my body with a lot of liquid and vitamins. So now, I’m ready to give you my review on a spanking brand new lipstick in town, BeautyBox Urban Lips Lipstick. Beauty Box just launched this last month and you can find it on your nearest Beauty Box counter or on Sociolla website.

Beauty Box Urban Lips is a locally made lipstick by Beauty Box. I got mine from Sociolla as one of the gifts for winning the Sociolla Halloween Spooktacular make up competition last week. I was so excited to find this lipstick between the other items in the box because I saw the pictures of Urban Lips launching from the other beauty blogger and I have a crush on its colors! They look really good on the lips and the colors are so vibrant. Without question, this lipstick is definitely the first one from the others that I will review on my blog.

Beauty Box Urban Lips comes in 11 shades from nude to deep red shade. The shade names are inspired from focal points in New York and London because Urban Lips wants to bring the big cities vibes to the users, which are vibrant, sophisticated, and fabulous. My Urban Lips comes in shade Manhattan, a red shade with neutral undertone. 

The coolest part of the lipstick is the box packaging. I adore those city landmarks silhouette! It looks so edgy and chic. The bullet is chubbier than the other lipsticks that I own, and shorter too. The texture when you apply the lipstick is a bit creamy but not long after the application on the lips, the finish look is matte. It doesn’t feel velvety matte like Shu Uemura Rouge Unlimited Lipstick, but I like Urban Lips too because it doesn’t make my lips dry. The color is pigmented but did not leave deep tint on your lips after it fades away. It stayed put beautifully on my lips for 4-5 hours without eating. 

The thing with red lipstick is they tend to bleed out to your outer lines of lips sometimes especially after you eat, drink, or talk a lot. I’m so happy to tell you that Urban Lips doesn’t bleed out on my lips. Maybe due to its matte texture too. 

Now, we get to the sad part. My Urban Lips lipstick came in a beauty box sent by Sociolla. When I opened the lipstick, everything is good, no damage on the lipstick. But then, just exactly when I pressed the lipstick to apply it to my lips, the bullet fell down! It broke on the base of the lipstick and fell down to my vanity table. I picked it up and tried to mend it but to no avail *crying in the corner*. The lipstick bullet couldn’t hold it together again. I really don’t know what happened and it is such an unfortunate thing. I got this lipstick as a gift but yet still disappointed that the lipstick is broken now. I would be even more disappointed if I purchased it on my own. But I’m not blaming anybody here, I just want to express my sadness towards what happened because I really like the lipstick. I wonder if it also happened to someone else too.

I still put the bullet in the case, but now I could only apply the lipstick using my lip brush. I could not carry the lipstick everywhere in my make up pouch because it means I have to carry my lip brush along too. And when you’re outside the house, I think it’s a bit of hassle if you have to reapply your lipstick using lip brush.

Well, that’s the end of my review. Overall, this is a good lipstick, long wear, and the color is lovely. Are you ready to rock your city girl vibe? Have you tried them? Let me know what you think about Beauty Box Urban Lips.

Event - YSL Kiss and Love Holiday Collection 2015

Hello gorgeous!! Two weeks ago, I was invited by YSL to their Holiday Collection launch and today I have some swatches for youuuu..

It is from YSL Rouge Pur Couture Kiss and Love Limited Edition Lipstick. Actually they also launched a whole other collection but I would like to focus on the Kiss and Love Lipstick in this post. There are three limited edition lipsticks for this holiday season. Well actually, the lipstick itself is not limited edition, but the emboss on the lipstick is. Those three colors are permanent colors that you can find in YSL Rouge Pur Couture line and the names are Le Rouge (01), Le Fucshia (19), and Le Orange (13). Beautiful vibrant colors that is perfect for festive season. YSL actually released four limited edition lipsticks, but I supposed they only released three of them here in Asia. I am particularly intrigued with the no.70, Le Nu, because it said that it is a new color and it's nude! But oh well, better less than nothing, right?

The lipstick itself is a classic item (since 1978!) that everyone should have at least one in their purse or makeup table. The texture is creamy and glides easily on your lips. The color is pigmented and covers your lips beautifully. Kiss and Love lipsticks has lips emboss all over its bullet, making it so adorable yet sexy. The golden case also gets a little kiss mark on above the YSL symbol. 

I swatched all the lipsticks on my hand and then apply it to on my lips so you can see how the color works on a whole look. My favorite from all is the Le Rouge because it's YSL classic red and is just lovely for the celebration in this holiday season.

Marc Jacobs New Nudes Sheer Lip Gel in Role Play

Hello September!! For other people on the other side of the world, September is the start of Fall season, when the cool breeze wind started to blow, the leaves started to turn yellow or brown. But it is a hot and dry season here in my country, Indonesia. My skin has been really dry lately because of the weather. I get some dry patchy spots on my nose and cheeks due to it and I have to remind myself to chug in more water to hydrate my body. I hope my fellow readers in Indonesia do the same too. 

Today, I want to share my recent favorite lipstick for daily look. Marc Jacobs New Nudes Sheer Lip Gel in Role Play. I was unaccustomed to nude lips or nude lip products because I thought that nude lips will never suit me because my complexion is already light and pale. I don’t need nude colors; I need bright colors to enhance my look. Nude eyes is one thing, but nude lips? Never in a million year have I wanted to try it. But then, I realized, nude color is not only pale beige color like what Kim Kardashian loves to wear. There are various colors of nude and we can select the one that suits our skin tone. 

I decided that nude color for me is dusty medium rose with beige or brown hint. My quest on collecting nude lipstick started with Tom Ford Indian Rose and then continued with Beauty Story Samantha (you can see the review here and here). I heard that Marc Jacobs New Nudes Sheer Lip Gel is amazing; I did some reading of the reviews on beauty blogs and put it in my wish list. It was not something that I really eager to get because it is not limited edition and even Sephora here doesn’t have it. But one day, I was browsing through a bazaar and stumbled upon one booth selling USA make up products. And there it is, that pretty beige case, sitting on top of the booth counter. It was the last stock and of course swatching it on your hand is not allowed. So, I quickly googled the swatches and thought, it might be a great nude and everyday lip color. Now, I’m really glad that baby came home with me because I love it so much.

The packaging is a sturdy plastic with magnet cap. It is the same packaging like the other Marc Jacobs lipstick but in a different color. The color is creamy medium beige; I supposed to represent the nude theme and I honestly falling in love with the packaging alone. It is just beautiful! It is simple, chic, and I love the magnet cap. The shape is perfect, with an elegant curve instead of round or squared edges. The packaging itself makes me want to take it out of my makeup bag and just adore or playing with it on my hand. 

 

The lipstick? Is ah-may-zing! The texture is gel like and it is creamy. The lipstick covers your lips well with a gel-ish creamy finish. It plumps your lips and gives an appropriate gloss. The bullet color in the tube is quite different when you apply it on your lips. I thought the color is going to be deeper; like what I see in the tube. But surprisingly it is sheerer, similar like my own lips. It is like THE nude color I am searching for! I also like how the bullet’s shape too, it has curves instead of sharp pointy bullet like other lipstick. 

The lipstick contains Monoi butter to help moisture the lips and Myrrh extract with vitamin E to reduce sign of aging including vertical fine lines. True to the ingredients, the lipstick does not make my lips dry at all. It has a light scent of vanilla which not overwhelming at all and you will not notice it few minutes after application. The staying power is not so good though, it usually lasts on my lips for about 2-3 hours. What I don’t understand is after 2-3 hours, the lipstick’s color will just disappear on my lips as if it is absorbed by my lips. I thought I ate it hahaha.. But when I wipe my lips with a tissue, I could see the color transfers to the tissue. That is really weird. The bottom line is, you need to reapply your lipstick in 2-3 hours after each application. So for you who is searching for a long lasting lipstick and would like your lipstick to stay put no matter what you do, maybe this is not the lipstick that you are looking for.  As for me, I don’t mind at all to reapply my lip color all day because it means I get to play with it often. 

Marc Jacobs New Nudes Sheer Lip Gel is a wonderful lipstick and I believe it’s a must have nude lipstick in your vanity. There is nothing I don’t like about this lipstick, it is simply one of my favorite lipsticks now. I’m eyeing on Understudy and Eat Cake shades to add to my collection. 

At the meantime, I wanted to show you all a comparison between Marc Jacobs Role Play and Tom Ford Indian Rose. Below you can see the swatches of both lipsticks and how they look on my FOTD.  Role Play looks more to the brown side than Indian Rose while the latter is more to dusty medium rose. When applied, Role Play looks more nude and transparent than Indian Rose, creating a perfect nude look for me. They don’t share the similar texture. Role Play finish is a bit glossy and could hide my lips’ fine lines. Indian Rose on the other hand, has a satin finish thus accentuate my fine lines more than Role Play. I stated on my Indian Rose review that it has a waxy plasticy scent, but now I know better that it is actually its signature vanilla scent. The scent is definitely stronger than Role Play has. As for staying power, Indian Rose wins because it usually lasted up to 4 hours on me. Nevertheless, both are such a beauty and I love them both!
