Event - Clozette Indonesia Blogger Babes Asia Female Blogger Gathering

Hello gorgeous people! Today I would like to share with you about my experience joining Clozette Indonesia seminar. In this event, Clozette Indonesia working together with Blogger Babes and giving us the most exciting female blogger gathering of the year.

Blogger babes..Hmmm.. What is Blogger Babes?

Taken from their website; www.bloggerbabes.com.
“Blogger Babes is a community of driven female bloggers seeking solutions and support to successfully navigate the highly competitive arena of online curation and blogging. Our members gravitate toward lifestyle topics, such as the fashion, beauty, food, travel, DIY/decor and parenting niches. We provide education, sponsored campaigns, networking events, and business coaching and support services.”

So basically, Blogger Babes is a platform where all woman bloggers around the world could find the support they need to share and improve their blogging skills and network to become a top blogger. And at this event, Blogger Babes also happened to announce their partnership with Clozette Indonesia to launch Blogger Babes Asia.

The event started with the opening from Mr. Rolly Pane, the CEO of Clozette Indonesia. He explains what is Clozette Indonesia and what are the things you can get by registering as a member of Clozette aka becoming a Clozetter. Clozette Indonesia is a place where women can discover complete fashion and beauty content. There are several sections in Clozette that you can explore which are Fashion, Beauty, Hijab, Tutorial, and Article. They even have ClozetteShoppe and Find Similar features that will definitely give you plenty of choices in shopping and that’s exactly what a woman needs, right? Curious? Go and check Clozette Indonesia website at www.clozette.co.id

In this seminar we were all very lucky to be able to meet one of the founders of Blogger Babes, Heidi Nazaruddin.
Heidi Nazaruddin is a former high-flying CEO of a Nasdaq-listed technology company who left a successful corporate life to pursue her passion for writing. She started blogging since 2008 and you can find her writings on TheAmbitionista.com, a fashion blog for working woman.

Heidi kindly shared a lot of blogging tips on how to improve your blog and turn your passion for writing into business. She also explained the importance of branding your blog and how to be consistent in everything you do in the internet, starting from your blog design, the content, and your personality and writing style. All of those things need to be in line so you and your blog are able to stand out and people will recognize you easily. So, make sure at first you already really sure about what you are going to blog and who you are. For example, if you want to make a beauty blog then make sure the design of your blog looks like a beauty blog instead of a food blog. Put a lipstick picture instead of cupcakes.

Heidi also said that for a new blogger, use your first year to fill your blog with good content. Eventually, the business proposal will come along later. Without a good content, no one would want to cooperate with you. The reason they want to cooperate with you is to help them develop their business. If you can’t provide a blog that can attract a lot of readers or viewers then you will go nowhere.

The key is to be consistent and discipline on working on your blog. Don’t be lazy to write. If needed, create a writing schedule and push yourself to post something on the blog. But don’t just post anything random or unqualified content just for the sake of posting. Quality over quantity, ladies.

We also enjoyed the talkshow with Fifi Alvianto and Diana Rikasari. Two top bloggers from Indonesia that also shared their experiences as a blogger to us.

Fifi shared how she overcomes the writer’s block in blogging. When it happened, she usually will go out to meet friends, spend time with her family, basically, just go out from the house and let her mind find inspiration by itself from the things that she sees or hears from the outing.

Diana, who is well known by her quirky fashion style shared on what to post on your blog. She said that her blog is like her diary, so she will write on her blog almost every day even though it’s already late night. When you don’t know what to write, just post good pictures or quotes that can sparks inspiration for your readers.

All of them also shared their memorable memories working with their respective clients. The story of their ups and downs gave me a lot of encouragement and inspiration to work harder in giving the best on my blog.

After the talk show, lunch is served and we got the chance to mingle around with the other bloggers and also the opportunity to play on The Body Shop Indonesia, Diva, and Slim Fit booth that sponsored the event.

I really enjoyed being there on Clozette Meet Up because it gave me a lot of new things to learn that I could use to improve my blogging skills. Even though I started my blog in 2013, I did not write frequently in it until the beginning of this year. There is still a lot for me to learn on how to provide a good content in my blog. Heidi gave us a last surprise by saying that we could download Blogger Babes E-book called Pitch It! for free. The e-book contains tips and tricks on how to manage your blog and how to sell your blog well. I already skimped through the e-book and find it really good because the book gives you the step by step on how to develop your blog into business.

Thank you Clozette Indonesia for the invitation and hopefully you can make more interesting and motivating workshop like this in the future.

Cheers,

Stef
